Automation and Maintenance Engineer – PLC

(could be a Snr engineer if he has right skill & experience)

This role is a cross functional role, where he/she shall be able to support both ‘Automation Project’ based scope and day to day actives task’s involving ‘Troubleshooting’ Electrical, electronic PLC issues and support production run smoothly. Interested candidate shall have the technical knowledge to set up and maintain electrical/electronic control systems for mechanical equipment. Including integrating electrical wiring, pneumatic and hydraulic systems. One needs to understand and create wiring schematics, electrical drawings, control panels and program PLC’s.

Roles and responsibilities 

  • Cross functional role to lead “New Automation-projects” & “trouble shooting of existing equipment’s
  • To lead factory-wide initiatives on ‘Smart Manufacturing and Industry 4.0’ 
  • Working with team in conceptualizing machine design and factory automation.
  • Able to transform concepts into detail designs of control systems with electrical circuit design and drawings. 
  • Able to design and implement mechatronics systems with PLC (Siemens, ABB, Omron etc) and PC based control system. 
  • Able to manage projects on own and manage technicians efficiently. 
  • Optimizes equipment safety, availability and utilization through equipment automation. 
  • Responding to breakdowns, troubleshooting of machine issues (motor control, drivers, controls and electricals). 
  • Analyze root causes and develop resolutions to prevent future occurrence of faults. 
  • Managing stocks of spare parts and supplies 

Requirements 

  • Minimum bachelor’s degree in Electrical/Electronics/instrumentation or Mechatronics engineering or related field.
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in factory automation, machine design and maintenance.
  • Experience in electrical design layout, control system, PLC is mandatory. ✓ Able to read PCB’s, electrical and electronics circuits.
  • knowledge of Electro-mechanical, hydraulic/pneumatic system and SCADA will be advantages. • Hands on person in factory environments.
  • Good English and excellent interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to communicate well to other members of the Engineering, production and quality team.
  • Demonstrates commitment to teamwork by fostering an environment of trust and respect.
  • Creative and out of box thinking.
  • Ability to think ahead and plan over for next 3-6-months.
