Job Capsule:
Under general supervision, manages multiple internal projects involving a single discipline or department. Drives various components of project planning and execution on multiple projects such as completion of multiple detailed project specifications. Leads project activities across functional groups. Ensures that project deliverables are properly completed and directly impacts cost containment, efficiency or profitability of operations. Provides guidance and mentoring to more junior team members. Requires completion of an undergraduate degree in Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM), and 4 years of related experience.
Job Roles:
- Coordinates project activities across multi-disciplinary teams.
- Engages procurement to acquire goods and services of a project. Leads team in project planning, risk analysis, quality and project performance analysis using standard methods – (e.g., FMEA, Earned Value, RCA)
- Generates objectives and elements of the project plan.(charter, contract, etc.)
- Creates advanced schedules that will produce the correct flow of costs and resources as well as project metrics.
- Identifies scope of deliverables, budgets and resource allocations within project schedules
- Identifies and manages overall project budget, time and resources. Implements remedial/corrective actions on project plan elements relative to metric performance
- Prepares cost impact analysis and manages project costs including on schedule and scope changes
- Provides guidance and mentoring to more junior team members
- Creates a capital and expense budget for project
- Forecasts direct project expense and understand variances
- Creates scope of work from technical requirements and identifies unusual contract conditions
